Alaska was created in response to the government's plans to begin drilling oil in the Alaskan wildlife reserves. Over the course of the video, a woman's head is submerged in the water. The ephemeral and painterly quality of hair drifting into the pool and bubbles dancing on the surface, contrasts with the discomfort her face conveys and the looming sense that her submersion is forced. The video is projected without sound.
