Using Photoshop, students create a parody of a national advertisement that gets people’s attention, subverts the original purpose of the ad, and ideally, sends a social, cultural, or political message. Once the advertisement is identified, research is used to support the criticism of the product or concept.

The advertisements displayed were created in 2008, just prior to the Presidential Elections. Therefore, many of the ad parodies strayed away from products to comment on the candidates, campaigns, and upcoming presidential election.
