The 2008 Presidential election between Arizona Senator John McCain and Illinois Senator Barack Obama marked a critical historical moment that engaged complex issues surrounding American society and the voter electorate. Students worked cross-disciplinarily in both Media Arts and Humanities/ESL classes to study the issues, candidates and U.S. geography to better understand how decisions are made in American society. Working in small groups, students created political video campaign advertisements for a state and candidate assigned to them, focusing on the issues that were most important to that state.
