12th Grade Media Arts
Flushing International High School
Following a field trip to a local museum, students identify artists that capture their attention. They work in small groups to plan, compose, and shoot a photograph or series of photographs, in the style of one of these artists.
All aspects of the artists’ style, including formal composition, use of narrative, body, set, props, symbolism and metaphor are considered. While borrowing his/her AESTHETIC AND STYLE, students work together within the group to develop CONTENT AND MEANING that is unique to their own lives, interests, and experiences.
